Calming down now…
And since there are still a few minutes before I leave… Let me make something clear before I get outta here for the weekend; I do not hate Secret Dubai. I don’t know her to hate her. And I don’t really care what she chooses to put in her blog and what she doesn’t; until it affects me or someone I love personally.
I do feel she bases a lot of what she does on double-standards. Freedom of Speech (where she chooses who has that freedom and who doesn’t; Etisalat shouldn’t ban site, but she should ban Balushi?), is probably the biggest one.
And I do feel that a lot of you are idolizing her for her fame; without realizing the rants that take place between you all in her blog are the only reason she has that fame in the first place. I’ve not been around here long enough to know her history, and I haven’t read her whole blog; I have no intention of doing so.
But what I’ve seen is in my opinion a very negative point of view of the UAE, or at least a very negative presentation off all that’s to offer here; only choosing the nasty stories to comment on and rarely saying anything appreciative.
I also believe that if she can draw the line and cut someone like Balushi out, or delete comments she feels are insulting; she should be able to delete the ones that someone tells her are personally insulting because it has to do with her family, and potentially very hurtful.
I over-reacted; and maybe I wasn’t patient enough with my response. That’s how anger works sometimes, I suppose.
I called SD a bunch of horrible names and I had no right. I have no excuse, other than the fact that I’m a stupid, little, emotionally immature girl sometimes. I’m not going to offer one better than that, either.
I’m not going to delete this rant of mine; unless SD requests it. And that’s because I don’t believe deleting something you regret saying can take it all away; but I do believe in respect for another person (so long as I’m not fuming with rage).
And yes, I regret that outburst.
I’m sorry for the nasty names, and I’m sorry for the anger, and I’m sorry if I acted too soon and maybe if I hadn’t, you would have deleted those posts on my behalf. If not, I believe you need to learn a little about respecting others, despite the free speech line you’re famous for.
But I meant what I said about what I feel for your Blog, and the way you represent yourself. I didn’t really form a solid opinion of that until this, actually. And I may still change my mind. But for now, this is the truth of it from my eyes.

I hope all the sane bloggers realize this and stop commenting on SD.
Actually a lot of bloggers visit her blog and comment in her favor so that they could earn a few popularity points.. a few more hits..
Im so bored of her daily posts. She reads the newspapers, tries to find something negative and puts the link in there along with a few stupid lines. *yawn* *yawn*
And that little angry kid, the Annoying Thing, SDs stooge - is so obsessed with UAE that he cant sleep in Australia without posting something negative on Dubai...
Its time SDs hypocrisy ends. I mean cmon ppl we want some real blogging, not copy-pasted news articles..
TF you were way TOO LOUD today, but I liked it :)
take care
Well-said Ahmed.
I don't believe in ONE blog monopolizing the UAE blogs or more than that, I am against ONE blog trying to speak on behalf of the UAE when it doesn't even represent a small fraction of what we really think.
SD is fine if she just exists as just another UAE blog. People rant, people praise and we just get on with the lives. The extra attention is given by the 'follower' mentality; like ahmed said, people who try to get a few more hints.
The main problem is the gap; people who (if I can say) are 'made of' UAE and people like SD who just drop by and then pack up and go home, even if they've been here for a decade or whatever - well these two groups are not looking at an issue with a convergent perspective. It's so easy for someone to diss what we have built but they don't realize the history. For us, it holds a lot more emotional importance and for them, it's just a transit stay gone wrong.
People need to just move on and get on with lives. There's a lot more important things out there than people caught having sex in cars or maid getting beaten up. It happens all over the world.
I am not the type that says "Leave if you don't like it" but I do believe that at the end of it all, if you're here, there's something good in it for you.
At least you had the decency to apologize. Yes, you were a little harsh but realization is a big step in itself :)
*hits(not HINTS)
Thanx MD for those words :)
I like your blog a lot, at least it has some original posts, and the few posts are actually better than the thousands SD has written..
Sorry SD I dont know how to appreciate 'satire' - but your posts suck...
Did you read the eggfather or the 'GodFather'z blog in which he invited SD to Bahrain and offered her honorary citizenship. Please SD go there and make good fun of the riots and their parliament.. Of course the parliament still hasnt acquired the 'prestigious' SD standards..
citizenship? omg...u're kidding?! lol :P
King Kong strikes once again :D
Who or what is this secret dubai that admires so much ?
ahmed, your blog is amazing; I think you are on the way to dominating the blog scene. Good on you.
Have all of you ever heard of "freedom of speech"?
" It's so easy for someone to diss what we have built but they don't realize the history. For us, it holds a lot more emotional importance and for them, it's just a transit stay gone wrong."
I thought you were an Indian? Why the hell do you always write like you're an Arab?
There are NRIs as well as other nationalities who've stayed here for 25+ years, yet they never go around talking of history being swept under the carpet and the like? You know why? Because they created the history you talk about.
Don't get me wrong, I'm talking on purely infrastructural terms. Not culture.
A transit stay gone wrong? Unpaid slave labour and you talk of transit stay?
"People need to just move on and get on with lives. There's a lot more important things out there than people caught having sex in cars or maid getting beaten up. It happens all over the world."
Ofcourse it happens all over the world. If you happen to visit sites like http://www.theotherindia.org/ , you'd also come to know of the same stories. These stories need to be told, for then only will action be taken and their conditions improved.
Next time when your maid gets thrashed, I'd like to know if you'd say "chalta hai"(It happens) to her. That is if you ever cared about her.
"but I do believe that at the end of it all, if you're here, there's something good in it for you."
Ofcourse there's something good. We leave family, friends, almost everything we took for granted to earn that something extra. Kind of like when you pay a waiter a tip. Without that tip, his job is pretty much worthless for him - he'd simply change jobs when he sees fit. And I know you're the kind who doesn't know what a tip is.
SDs blog focuses on the common man, if you'd ever thought about it that way. Which is why it's popular. What and who is there to diss/blog when you have a 4X4, a villa and a marina view? Nothing much, I tell you.
Every blog has an audience. Everyone misses this point.
Balushi, what is it with masturbating and all. Why not write about it in your blog? Don't you have an audience for that?
LoL..
I have been around since SD started getting fame thanks to her blog getting banned and all. BACK THEN, her blog was somethin good, sure. NOW, its CRAP, and we all know it. She has used the initial popularity negatively, her rants have increased and generally, her blog is just meant to be pissed upon now..I'm sorry to say!
The occasional GN/KT mentions, I am SURE, are due to some wasta or connections she has in there! There were dozens of April Fools' tricks played in Dubai, why would SD's silly photo trick of all things be mentioned front page in GN?!!
1)We need to bring SD back down to earth, and the only way thats gonna happen is by not visiting her blog!
2)Moreover, some of the things she mentioned over the past few months could easily put her in a spot by Etisalat, yet again, if someone complained...any takers?:)
3)Delete all comments she makes in others blogs. Giving her a taste of her own medicine while isolating her is the best lethal combo:D
Yes Anon! we can do it and WE WILL!
I suggest you post all this on ur blog...oops! no blog, ok write an email, pass it around get everyone to sign it, you could get sponsors to compensate for your time and effort involved in doing this. Turn it into a petition, I'm sure that will teach her a lesson. she will finally pack up her bags and go (from blogging world), and some how her life will be devastated, her reason to breathe will be taken away, she'll choke and DIE!

Harsha dont be so harsh-aah on SD(like the Tamilians would probably put it):), she neednt be banned from the blogging world, but just by Etisalat;)
You seem to have more time to do all that petition stuff, given the number of comments you make in several blogs around here regularly..
Kindly do the needful, while I enjoy my weekend at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, they have a wonderful setup at Beachcombers:))
For your effort, I will buy you some chai from an exclusive chai outlet in Sharjah which actually doles out 40 different kinds of chai. At not so costly prices.
as for anonymous commenting, please read my rant here
You are not anonymous at all; do not kid yourself. There is no point in anonymous commenting on a blog with a page counter, it is EASY to tell who is posting the supposedly anonymous comments.
As far as I can see, turning anonymous commenting off is a good way to prevent people who are too stupid to fill out a sign up form from commenting on ones blog.
maybe we'd give your suggestions a little more attention if you showed some 'cojones' though.
Hannibal, whoever asked YOU to do anything here..lol? Dont get your knickers in a twist for no reason, and no need to say WE, you can very well speak just for yourself here:)
Whilst you sort out your vocabulary and words, let me gently remind you that of course, it goes without saying that I HAVE visted the concerned blog(didnt know you were such an imbecile to figure that out:P), but stopped a long while ago as its quality dwindled.
Have a good weekend, I'm outta here, taking my cloak of anonymity with me. It does get a little chilly now and then:)
Sorry to turn u down Anon, but if i could I'd BOYCOTT TEA from the world, hehe...and just swiimmmm in coffee
P.S , I know who you are too (teehee)

@archer:
LOL! It's amazing how you miss the point too. Out of everything, what bothered you the most was MY comment. How sweet.
Why don't you forward your resentments directly and just be open with what your real issue is with me?
Oh wait, you're still waiting for that e-mail from me? Well after having proven that you're officially a bitch, you're not getting one.
Hannibal, the popcorn's awesome. oh wait, that's another post :P
Resentment with you? Real issue? WTF are you talking about? I've long forgotten about you or your fucking email for that matter. Who cares about your email.
Imbecile, try responding to my comment rather than bring up YOUR personal matter? Hahaha - email...LOL...
You made some beautiful observations, and hence my response.
Till you become the mayor of the UAE,
Cheers...not that should be C7eers!
And oh, btw, this might serve as good fodder for the next post on your blog.
Thanks for the compliment. They were indeed some beautiful observations. Always good to read fan-mail. But you're not worthy of being mentioned on my blog. I'd rather write about Pamela Anderson.
3azab el hoaaa yektlni ghezila
fe tyaato ymarmrni shemyalaa
wait wait wait wait;
there is more irony to this.
balushi's blog title caption is "Freedom Of Speech", and he is pissed he can't comment on SD's blog, but he himself has anonymous commenting turned off?
md:
Ah...but ironically I was mentioned. Good to know your cheap standards are improving. Pamela Anderson is the right way to go.
You also get special brownie points for writing flawless arabic in an english blog.
archer:
Yup, my cheap standards are improving. Proof? I had mentioned you ONCE before, not anymore. Pamela Anderson is cheap, but way better than you. Glad you see the difference :)))
Thanks for the brownie points, so sweet of ya. It's a song, just so you know. Not that I care but oh well.
Hala Sam, hope you're well.
Archer
“years, yet they never go around talking of history being swept under the carpet and the like? You know why? Because they created the history you talk about.”
Archer, aren’t you an Indian? And I believe I’ve heard you defend Indian laborers saying, “They built this country.” Isn’t that defending history on behalf of whatever? I’ve heard many, many of them state that they build this country, what’s this attach on MD really about?
“SDs blog focuses on the common man, if you'd ever thought about it that way. Which is why it's popular.”
I beg to differ here, hon. I’m the common man as much as anyone else. SD’s blog focus’s on bitching for the sake of attention and getting people like you to rant there; agree, disagree, thus increasing her personal ego. Unless of course, I’m mistaken and common man care about pruning trees, I suppose.
**LOOooOooOL! As I read down the comments; it seems my assumption from your first comments may have been a little more accurate than I’d have assumed to begin with.
Harsha,
“Yes Anon! we can do it and WE WILL!

Funny, coming from someone who hasn’t made a SINGLE opinionated entry in her own blog, but rather copies and pastes jokes there, while siding opinionated comments other blogs with whomever seems to be the more powerful in any given situation?! I’m afraid you’re choosing the wrong side to base your opinion on here, hun.
Hannibal,
At least anon has shared an opinion, rather than simply attacking another commenter’s stand in the whole situation. What is you’re opinion here?
Sam,
Honey, “Freedom of Speech” means “Freedom of Speech.” You can’t call for it and censor it at the same time. I appreciate your respect much; and you know that; and please stop using the proxy threat. It’s only inviting someone to go ahead and show you what it’s all really about.
“You are not anonymous at all; do not kid yourself. There is no point in anonymous commenting on a blog with a page counter, it is EASY to tell who is posting the supposedly anonymous comments.”
And Sam, you also know how easy it is to play with them IP addresses and make them look like they’re something they’re not, don’t ya?
Shadow,
“So maybe the SDD followers should get over themselves a bit and the SDD haters should go somewhere else.”
Great advice shadow, but ahh… if this was your already, over-emotional, brother in law being dragged into a blog that’s notorious for shit-slinging, rants and rages, would you not say a thing?
And, I'm BaaAaaaAAAaack! How ya all doing?
*LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGHS*
Missed you (on the blogging scene) lol...looooove u ;)
Hannibal...
You feeling better after getting this all off your chest?!
"Archer, aren’t you an Indian? And I believe I’ve heard you defend Indian laborers saying, “They built this country.” Isn’t that defending history on behalf of whatever? I’ve heard many, many of them state that they build this country,
Yes I am Indian and I'm proud of it, FYI I've been here since 1982 and do not blend into the local population. Because every idiot knows that you are a foreigner here, no matter what you do. So my feelings are mutual. And I was just clarifying the obvious to the Arab...I mean Indian.
"what’s this attach on MD really about?"
I am not the one who started airing dirty laundry.
TF,
Did you know that hannibal is the unofficl *ghurka* of your blog while you are away? If this is news to you and you appreciate her noble work, please reward her with a doggy bone. Or perhaps a pack of popcorn would do fine. And a large one, when you are at it.
LoL.
i prefer to sit in the balcony and watch the fun unfold. i neither inflame a situation or try and play the role of a peacemaker.
(Yawn) Its easy to notice and appreciate how true the above statement is.
Anon...
I love Hannibal... honestly. (And s/he should know that)
But I tend to say what I'm thinking when I'm thinking it... ya see, regardless of who makes what comments...
And with respect, I can't exactly argue with people who have made comments agreeing with me, can I?
So... I figured Hannibal knows that I don't mean any harm in what I said and hope that little spill of emotions makes him/her feel better...
get it?
This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
TF,
I know what you mean.
However, notice how certain people *take over* matters like they think they own rights over it? And make baseless judgements not knowing the truth? And then they finally say something but in effect are doing more or less the opposite?
Double standards are all over the place. Everywhere :)
hannibal is a gurl? i only share popcorn with guys!!
anon... I don't follow what you're saying.... sorry. I'm slow...
Please say whatever directly... even email it to me if you wouldn't mind?
I'm feeling dumb right now...
*hannibal*
The Carthaginian general Hannibal (247-182 BCE) was one of the greatest military leaders in history. His most famous campaign took place during the Second Punic War (218-202), when he caught the Romans off guard by crossing the Alps

Hannibal Lecter.. the villian of 'silence of the lambs'
also
John 'Hannibal' Smith , the leader of 'THE A TEAM'
I see anon has made his appearance again.. and still tries to disguise who he really is. Try harder muppet. you're just making yourself look like a tw@t !
MD
read above descriptions of Hannibal and decide if he or she. :)
and I only share popcorn with girls by the way
TF
yes I lurve you too.. :)
hannibal or whoever else you are, I am happy my anonymity is still making you tear your hair out..for starters, why dont you just mind your own world without creeping into others?!
And just for the record, if I choose to not have a username(for whatever reason, which is none of your business), I'm wondering why thats bothering you, if even the blog owner of the blog I'm commenting on doesnt have a prob? First get a life..then live it and let live:)
You seem to have issues. You say you dont inflame issues but the truth is far from that, as can be seen in this comment section itself. Go solve your issues, then come back, we shall play under my cloak together, if you can learn to behave yourself:)
Ah, once again you forget, I am responding with my *comments* to a particular blog entry made by a particular person. If you were the concerned blog owner, or the concerned person I was mentioning, perhaps you have a point. But you are not. And of course, it is a comment(not command, if you got confused lol) and it is the way I see it, regardless of who it is. Who are you to question all that when its not even your blog?:)
Your useless provocations lead nowhere but much contradict your own statements, as said before, and if you think that for some weird reason your taunts are going to discourage me from continuing to be myself, please inform yourself that you are completely wrong.
Just having or using a username does not give you or anyone else any great un-anonymity(for lack of a better word!) or the so called license to pick on anon users. If an anon option is there, I or anyone else has the right to use it, and use we will. There need not be any *disguise* factor in it, which you seem to like so much!
I dont know you, I wont know you and I never wanted to know you. Online or offline. Neither do I have anything against you or your comments. While assuming you have similar thoughts(or should have) regarding knowing me, I give you a warm smile and hope we meet again soon, perhaps on some other blog entry?
Till then:)
TF, where is HLH these days?
HLH decided she doesn't want to blog anymore, and since she hasn't replied to my emails either...
Where ever she is, I hope she's wonderful and I hope she comes back soon.
I miss that girl.
..AND vice versa to yourself :)
You go have a bad day ok?
hehe..this is where the fun starts, when there is more than one anon in the game and you fall for it.
humble apologies for my english not being as perfect as yours, but when was intelligence connected to knowledge of english? oh maybe in your world of popcorn and a large one..
Yawn, but watch out for dust getting inside your mouth if you yawn too much, its pretty dusty these days.
ah, its now come down to the hehe and the lolling..dont forget the smiles, which has also been used from comment no.1:)
oh how the supposedly mighty have fallen from their balconies. oh boy.
other anons, pls take note.
tsk tsk indeed:)
My hole is big enough for you.
tskLOLtskLOL
:-O ;P
Ok, lets see how you make a comeback here yet again now..
AFTER you finish splitting your sides. And perhaps digging holes, since you seem to like that so much? :)
New anon, keep it up, you seem to be from Balushis school of thought! Good enough to keep our side splitter to come back, I hope!
CHUT UB!
If I said I was confused?! Would any of you anons at least tell me in private who you are?!
Now I'm curious?
I thought all anon comments in my blog were supposed to attack me, and only me?!
Gee...we have a hit here...Diva Tainted...61 entries to date (incl mine) for this post..u are a bona fide star! I think the other woman can pack up and go home now..lol
