Dubai

Broken I find myself again today
Repercussions of love abused
Obscure memories; emotions obtuse
Kind words forgotten and unused.
Everyone has a story to tell,
No soul here knows not of love’s hell.

Hearts once beat together
Everlasting bliss the only wish
Apart; violently thrust forever
Relentless hopes to never
Tell another story
Shaped by a love they’ve lost.

&

Shattered are the souls
Homed by bodies of plastic
And paint
Tortured by our hearts
Tediously; we mask the saint
Enveloping our core
Rendering it cold forever more
Everything we are is formed
Defying our internal sores.

Dreams are lost in withering
Reflections of who I once was
Eternally forced to know
A life lived in the past.
My story but a repetition told
Sung by voices; young and old.
September 2005
I have a writing site. I used to write a lot, poetry, prose, I even started writing about book about romantic relationships with UAE nationals. But one day, the rhyming stopped and I haven’t found a pretty word since; so now I Blog most of my thoughts.
Anyway, this is something I found at that other site, from a long time ago. It’s almost ironic how it’s still relevant to the way I’m feeling about UAE these days. I wonder if I’ve grown any since then?

Did you mean poverty, or poetry?! And isn't that what the girl you were talking about in your last blog told you?

You must have something more intelligent to say than something repeated?!

I don't think Harsha will be around here... She doesn't seem to like me all that much. Maybe you should look for her elsewhere.

TF & HLH,

Is this the beginning of a wonderfully sweet, intimately itchy bonding? (sowwie, the words just didnt come out right)

TF, if ever you decide to send just a male to HLH, lemme know:)

yay~ I'm being discussed.

Tainted, lol why would 'I like you' or 'Not like u '

whether or not I agree or disagree with things you say is irrespective of the fact that I like the way you write. I like the way u express urself.

I am not obliged to agree with everything said. I have certain viewpoints and stick to that and tend to change as a learn and am convinced about something.

I know how much you dissent Balushi, u still read his blog right? well in any case thats not the case with me.

and as for the movie - I thought the story line would interest Balushi - its how a guy is assaulted by his ex gf/MD of his company and is then thrown out of his job - n he sues her.

(u may not like the end - his wife, who's a lawyer, takes him out of the whole thing)

Tainted : If I really dint like you, your blog wouldnt exist on the 'My recommendations' tab of my blog.

Way over my head anon... send 'just a male' to Hot lemon... Are you making a pun outta the mail protion of the word 'email'? That's cute!

Harsha honey, it was a comment I made 'tongue in cheek,' not to be taken seriously. (I'm beginning to see the value of emotion icons, as seen in so many chatting places).

But thank you for the compliments and respectful understanding.

There was a Hindi movie I saw advertized once called 'Dubai'. It was being played in Nasr cinema, years ago. I've been trying ever since to get my hands on a copy, because I just need to know what it's about, but I can't seem to find it. Any information Harsha?

I don't understand Hindi, but figure maybe I can get a copy with English subtitles?

And about Balushi, I think in response to comments Hot Lemon made earlier, I already stated that I like him much, actually. I wish people would stop creating enemies for me. (I know it wasn't your intent, but it sure feels like that with so many assuming such things) And I make enough enemies on my own, honestly.

But I see your point, and agree with you. You don't necessarily have to like a person to admire certain things about them.
