British soldiers beating Iraqi kids
Can it get any worse? These are Iraqi kids. |
Lost in the United Arab Emirates; lost in my mind, lost in thoughts of you and him. I am a tainted female and so will be my blog. Truths tainted with lies, reality tainted with dreams, you will be tainted by me.

Makes me ashamed to be British !!!
Bastards
The effects of war make people sick, beyond belief. I'm sure that later in life (if not already), these soldiers will feel regret for this.
As I'm sure that American teen-soldier cheering on the murder of an Iraqi (as I posted a while go), will also feel regret.
What's sick, is what we imagine we're not seeing filmed.
TF: If you say effects of war make people sickmmunity Nurses, so they can quickly find information and communication needed to carry out their work. Please share any comments or suggestions at SusanSaundersRN@cox.netet
TF: If you say effects of war make people sick & that these soldiers as well as that teen soldier will later regret their actions, I wonder what prompted you to post this clip.
It's brutal and sickening to see this stuff and no one deserves such kind of treatment.
Far more dreadful abuses have taken place in past conflicts and whoever did them got more than their friggin butts kicked as will those that do so now.
I would salute anyone that would speed up the prosecution of these perpetrators but not someone who adds salt on an open wound.
It's not fair!
Symphony,
I guess this is another area where you and I differ in thought. I think it’s important to highlight the realities of what’s happening to both those being abused directly and those who become the abusers through the harsh realities of war. I believe seeing these sorts of things and the harsh reality of it make it harder for men and women to accept war and violence all together. I believe knowing this exists and seeing it with your own eyes, adds human attachment to the war that you wouldn’t feel or know otherwise. To me, sharing things like this helps the ‘numbers’ become names and the civilians killed become people.
I don’t think it’s adding salt to wound, since it’s a wound that’s being dug deeper and deeper daily by the atrocities that are still taking place in Iraq today. I’m not pulling a scab off something that’s in the process of healing to make it bleed more, but I am highlighting what’s happening to people in who are still there and still suffering, whether they be soldiers or civilians.
And anonymous... I have no idea what you're saying.
TF: Yes, we do differ in thoughts because I have not been at the receiving end like so many unfortunate people have.
Yes, I do beg to differ on your 'scab' comment because in a way by posting this abusive clip, you are pulling off the scab and exposing the wound(s).
Having said all this, whatever your reasons maybe, I just hope, pray and wish that this madness gets over soon and everybody goes home and leads a normal life.
If you get a chance look up Jill Carrol's bits & pieces interview in yesterday's Weekend Review of Gulf News or better yet, get the whole scoop from the CSM site. Sorry, I don't have the link to send you but I'm sure you'll find your way through.
'Yes, we do differ in thoughts because I have not been at the receiving end like so many unfortunate people have.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by you've not been on the receiving end as neither have I but our thoughts still differ.
Yes, I do beg to differ on your 'scab' comment because in a way by posting this abusive clip, you are pulling off the scab and exposing the wound(s).
Then we'll have to agree to disagree, won't we?
Having said all this, whatever your reasons maybe, I just hope, pray and wish that this madness gets over soon and everybody goes home and leads a normal life.
As do I.
And I'll look into those sites soon.
Cheers.
TF: Yes to both; it's better that we agree to disagree instead of dragging this never ending discussion.
In other words, win an argument, lose a friend or lose an argument, win a friend.
I'm glad we agree on something!
Cheers :-)
Symphony,
I found the Gulf News link, but I’m not sure what you’re talking about when you say CSM site.
I think that there’s a lot of truth in this interview and the most profound part I read was:
’So we ask all the fathers and mothers in America, 'You don't want your sons killed in Iraq?' We don't want your sons killed in Iraq. We don't want our sons killed, also. So we ask all fathers and mothers in America, 'Why (do) your sons kill our sons?'’
I’m not really sure how this interview relates to the discussion we were having about why I post such things in my blog, but it is a worth while read and I’m glad you pointed me to it.
CSM = Christian Science Monitor.

I'm sorry, I forgot to point out that this article or interview did not relate to this discussion. It's just related to this madness in Iraq.
Is this the incident from last year, or a new one??
The Carroll interview was interesting, how secular this guy is - but also how much he hates Shiites.
Dear God,
I am so grateful for what I have.
Symphony...
No apologies needed. I was just confused for a second while reading it. :)
Anon... I don't know. It's the first I've seen of it.
Harsha... As am I.
I think we have to realise that those Shiates who are killing ect are not true Muslims as their actions go against the basic faith of Islam, Whilst I see peoples thoughts that it is the Shia sect that are causing the problem we have to ask as I said above - are those people true Muslims ?
Babe...
I think that will depend on who you ask really. The Shiite & Suni divide is huge and from what I know, many Shiite's say Suni's aren't Muslim and many Suni's believe Shiite's aren't Muslim.
They both follow the Quraan. It's interpreted a little different by each. And they both believe Mohammed (PBUH) is the the last prophet, despite the things many Suni's say about Shiites believing Ali was the real profit. From what I know, that's simply not true about Shiite's and the differences come from who both sects believe should have become the main Imam after Mohammed's (PBUH) death.
The definition of a Muslim is one who submits his life to One God. So who's to say really? Only God knows, I guess.
You know, I’ve had the Suicide Bomber discussion with a number of people before. I agree with you 100%, personally based on the facts that 1) suicide is forbidden in Islam and 2) Suicide bombers mostly target innocent civilians.
But, these arguments have been debated by those who support suicide bombers with things like; 1)wars have been won in the past this way and if it’s the only option they have it’s the only weapon they can use (I don’t agree, if you can strap a bomb to your body, you can strap one to something that’s not live preferably something where it’s not civilians being targeted); and 2) because by targeting civilians and showing resistance in this way, will make the governments realize they can’t keep doing whatever they need to stop doing and force them to rethink their oppression (again I don’t agree with this since Suicide Bombing will only induce more rage against Muslims/Arabs as a nation – how many people internationally really know the vast differences between Shia & Suni?)
At the same time, I can understand where they are coming from. When they’re living what they feel is hell on earth, it’s easy to convince yourself to forfeit your own life with (delusional, in my opinion) hopes that it will better the lives of your nation somehow. Because I understand doesn’t mean I agree with them in the least. I’m sure a great quantity of the readers here would love to think that I’m all for suicide bombing and I am exactly the heartless being so many already think that I am.
Symphony, you missed my 'prophet' and 'profit' mistake there! Roar. And I only noticed it myself now.
Swear to God. Cross my heart. Believe you me, I was about to fire you an email on this error but I got myself distracted too.
LOL :-)
Cute Symphony... Cute... lol
