Silly Oman Question…

Does anyone know if there are ‘internal’ mobile numbers in Oman, that can not make and receive calls from abroad?

hello.. i have a long association with oman thru family and friends and i never heard about such mobiles.. i believe their system is similar to ours.. you can even use it in roaming.

trivia: back in the days before GSM but after the telegraph i remember we used to be able to use oman mobiles upto 50km into UAE!!! that's coz their signal was much stronger than etisalat and there were so many omanis in uae it made sense to do that.. so basically you call from uae to oman and it's considered a local call..

remmeber back in those days calls were so expensive.

Thank you Buj.

As for the rest... I guess I was too young to notice or something cause I really don't remember such a thing.

It's interesting to know though...

What I do remember were the 6 digit numbers and massive car phones that kept your number anonymous if you called another mobile. Now... THERE'S NO place to make prank calls from! lol

((Thank God I grew up a little since then, huh? Perhaps I was FORCED to, since I'm not able to do such things anymore?))

no oman mobiles can dial anywhere and they do not need credit on them to RECIEVE international calls. But if one is outside OMAN with an Oman mobile it needs credit and is CHARGED to recieve calls at an international rate.

why r u tainted i wonder...

Thank you Anon...

I believe anyone who claims they're not tainted, by the time they pass puberty... is in self-denial.

Life taints us, doesn't it?
