VOIP Petition for the UAE
Whether you believe it’ll do something or not, it’s worth giving it a go. From what I read today, this petition is speaking a lot and has been brought to our ‘service providers’ attention, and they are considering changes at this time. Though, of course, that could be misleading language. Whatever… it’ll take less than two minutes to sign and it’s worth giving it a go.
Maybe this time something will be done? There's got to be a first for everything, no?

Hey tainted do you remember the time you asked people to give a letter to Dubai Municipality to construct pedestrian crossings on SZR? I read a couple of weeks ago in GN that they're going to construct more and more pedestrian crossings in Dubai. I don't know if it's connected with the letter writing you began but at least..something happened. Cool. I'll try to look for the link. :)

Dani, I doubt it has anything to do with the emails, but it’s great news anyway! I must have missed the article about it.
BF… :) When I signed yesterday, there were less than 400 signatures. Now, there are over 1500. It’s nice to see so many people taking part in this.
Balushi… You’re a poor sport. You’re lucky we love you anyway.
Symphony… I doubt it. I think the reason VOIP might have a chance is because there is no ‘moral, cultural, blah, blah, blah,’ reason for it to be blocked. No one buys the ‘National Security crap’. UAE is the only country in the world to block it, from what I’ve read. UAE’s government knows National Security better than all the others? No, it’s obvious this is about money. There’s no excuse.
The blocks… they still have their excuse.
I hope you’ve all emailed the petition to all your friends and family here in the Emirates. And if not, please try to do so soon. I have a feeling this will be blocked soon, as I was reading through the comments last night, and some dimwit wrote a rather nasty insult there towards Sheikhs.
